i actually look the time to sync it to this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVNAp1C8LIw
it’s not the same without it.
and i would like to know who filmed this.
and i would’ve liked to see the reactions of people passing by.
you go, jeff rubin. stickin’ it to the man! whoever he may be.
Vimeo being sued for lip dubs is so obviously insane I don’t even feel the need to comment. Instead, I’m going to use it as an excuse to repost this.
Almost two years ago I made a lip dub for The Verve Pipe’s 90’s hit, The Freshman. EMI Publishing sent a copyright infringement notice and I had to take it down. Just to spite them (because I’m sure they cared) I reposted it without the music. In order to further stick it to EMI I am going to keep not buying music from the major labels, just like everyone else since at least 2000.
If you have a legally purchased copy of The Verve Pipe’s seminal 1996 album Villains handy and you’re a Jeff Rubin superfan, you can synch it up at home yourself. In retrospect I should have given the video a countdown to make synching easier, this takes a few tries but the video and the song start at almost the exact same time.

one of my favorite hardly workings in a while. i love anything combining more than one of my favorite things.
Hardly Working: Star Wars Fantasy
In case my last post didn’t cover all bases of nerdiness, enjoy the newest Hardly Working. It’s about The Empire Strikes Back, but it’s also about communicating with girls — what a paradox! And guys, I know you’re looking at Sarah as Leia and the answer is yes: her costume is movie quality!

Are u a virgin liz?
well, that’s insanely personal, but like i care.
yes, still a virgy.
and by that, i mean the FIRST definition on urban dictionary…
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=virgy
“End of the World Parody,” directed by me. Also written by Jeff, produced by Ben, shot by Vince, and edited by Mike Schaubach, with special effects by Gloo and a song by Carl Sondrol. Digg it.
I had always dreamed of doing a music video in the style of a news show, and Jeff’s parody about the alarmist nature of news was the perfect opportunity. Special thanks to iJustine for her cameo.

it is a pretty spot-on alan rickman impression. i was highly impressed, yo.
Among the things I did during the All-Nighter:
- Directed two Hardly Workings, one w/ the dudes from Derrick & Mystery Team
- Took questions for Donald Glover on the live chat
- Did my 2nd Davey Dance Blog
- Got to do my Alan Rickman impression
All that while hanging out with my best buds. Oh, what a night.
Thanks to everyone you who stayed up with us.
